It does not take a lot of pressure to shift into 5th! Just a quick double click type movement. Sort of like using the mouse click on a Macintosh.
Actually I did adjust the linkage to the shifter, so as to minimize slack and position the lever in the right place for my toe. I do not rally have trouble any more, but as I was saying it will not shift any better by using extreme force or pressure.--- The linkage adjustment is like a turn buckle on the shift rod. It has to be pulled out, (the pin out of the hole); then adjusted and then snapped back and secured in place.
